we love muay thai!
Fostering a strong, inclusive network for women+ in Muay Thai—where skill, confidence, and community grow side by side.
about us
Womens+ Sparring is a growing community-driven event created to provide a supportive and empowering space for women+ in Muay Thai. Founded by Amy Duke, a professional fighter and WBC North American Champion, the event was born out of the need for more opportunities for women+ to train together in a sport traditionally dominated by men.
The first Womens+ Sparring event took place in April 2019 at The Wat in Tribeca, but after just a few sessions, the pandemic forced a pause—and ultimately, The Wat’s closure. In 2022, the event found a new home at Zombie Muay Thai in Union Square, offering a central location that made it accessible for an even larger community.
Our goal is simple: to strengthen and grow women+ in Muay Thai by creating a space where fighters of all levels can connect, spar, and develop their skills together. Training in a welcoming environment helps break down barriers, allowing athletes to refine their techniques, gain confidence, and build lasting relationships that contribute to the sport’s overall growth.
Each month, 30+ attendees from over 10+ local gyms and surrounding states—come together to train. Whether you're a first-time sparer or a seasoned pro, you’ll find a space to challenge yourself, learn, and be part of a movement that’s shaping the future of women+ in Muay Thai.
Join us and be part of the next session!

Amy Duke is a professional Muay Thai fighter, coach, and the WBC North American Champion based in New York City. With nearly a decade of experience in the sport, she has dedicated herself to competing at the highest levels while also creating opportunities for women+ in Muay Thai through Womens+ Sparring.
Amy began her Muay Thai journey in Florida in August 2015, training under Joe Miller, who played a pivotal role in her early development as a fighter. In April 2016, she and Joe moved to Thailand, where she spent an extended period training and had her first five fights. After returning to Florida, she continued to build her career while she and joe made the move to New York City in December 2017, where they joined The Wat under the guidance of Phil Nurse.
Beyond competing, Amy is deeply committed to growing the sport and fostering a stronger community for women+ in Muay Thai. She founded Women’s+ Sparring in 2019, initially as a way to support her teammates. Over time, the event has expanded into a thriving network of fighters from across the region, offering a space for women+ to train, connect, and elevate their skills together.
Now, as both a fighter and event host, Amy continues to push forward—inspiring, competing, and building a future where women+ in Muay Thai can thrive.
